  • Collection tube: Sodium Heparin (green top)
  • Volume: 1-3 ml
  • Clearly label with: name, DOB, MRN, collection time & date
  • Temperature during transit: room temperature (NO ICE)
  • Acceptable transit time: up to 24 hours after blood draw
  • Include printed requisition in appropriately labeled shipping container
