Please reach us at genecode@genecodehc.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Genetic abnormalities can arise during cell line generation, routine cell culture, and gene editing. Cell lines need to maintain their genomic integrity if they are to be used for research and clinical applications. It is essential to routinely test and catalog the genetic alterations when working with cell lines.
Even if a cell line is shown to be authentic, it can lose key characteristics with prolonged passaging. Hence, the genomic integrity of cell lines in cultures should be frequently assessed.
The reviewers of scientific papers generally regard karyotyping as the most-trusted method of verifying a cell line's chromosomal makeup.
Most cell types are accepted including cancer lines. Please contact the lab to confirm acceptability for karyotyping before sending samples.
Samples can be dropped off in the lab or shipped to us (please see our Ordering and Sample Submission pages for complete instructions).
Our typical turnaround time is between 5 to 10 days. More complex cell lines may take a little longer to analyze and sign out.
